Since 2016 PQE Group actively supports the non-profit association Rare Partners in the developing of new therapies and diagnosticians in the field of rare diseases. Indeed 1 out of 20 people will live with a rare disease at some point in their life, for this reason it is important to raise people’s awareness by talking about this topic and taking concrete actions to support it. What’s the purpose behind the organization and the main needs of the market?
PQE Group and Rare Partners together for the Italian Open Water Tour
Arms, legs but above all heart. This is how the swimmer Alessandro Mennella, suffering from Usher syndrome and his guide Marcella Zaccariello – both Rare Partners racers – have faced an extraordinary challenge in support of research: to swim together for 36 km, divided into 6 stages in the most beautiful Italian settings.
And we at PQE Group were there at every stage to support them. Thank you, Alessandro and Marcella, because your courage and unstoppable tenacity have inspired us. So proud to have been part of this incredible adventure together!
Alessandro is a natural force. A cheerful and energetic boy unfortunately affected by Usher syndrome: a rare disease that affects one in 20,000 children and causes blindness and deafness. To discover how Alessandro met Marcella, and how, together, they faced miles and miles at sea – literally – tied, watch their story!
